Without EPLAN, the machine is finished – but the documentation is submitted three months later. An integrated process ensures that this doesn’t happen - because both documentation and the manual for start-up are created at the same time as the design.
Time-consuming error-checking as a result of different revisions of fluid and electrical documentation is now a thing of the past. Standardised documents simplify navigation and the mechanics on-site have access to all of the necessary information at all times. The intelligent revision management system even allows them to incorporate necessary changes directly into the documentation during the start-up phase. During maintenance and repair of the system, quick access to documents is guaranteed, allowing quick identification and rectification of faults.
If project documentation is linked to a machine’s visualisation system, a combination of effects is useful: A fault message or alarm from the host system opens up the system documentation at the exact location the fault had occurred. This reduces machine downtime to a minimum and the original project data is used over the entire service life of the machine.
Benefit - Visualisation and fault tracking reduces downtime
- Combined control documentation of all automation disciplines
- Neutral, Internet-compatible standard formats
- Project documentation accessible directly on the machine
- Revision data management
